Medical Center and Auxiliary Welcome "First Baby"

January 3, 2012

St. John’s Medical Center announces the birth of the First Baby of the New Year, who arrived at 2:31 pm on January 1, 2012. The baby girl, whom her parents named Fatima Andrea, is the daughter of Julio Gurrola and Vianney Tzompa Hernandez of Jackson, WY. Fatima, who was delivered by obstetrician Shannon Roberts, MD, weighed in at 8 lbs and measured 20.5 inches. The baby was cared for at St. John’s by pediatrician Jim Little, MD. The nurses for the labor and delivery were Polly Polson, RN and Judy Elquist, RN.

The hospital Auxiliary recognized the birth by coordinating a warm welcome on behalf of community businesses. A large gift basket presented to the family included toys, baby care items and numerous gift certificates to be enjoyed by the proud new parents at local shops and restaurants.
