St. John’s Medical Center hosts Lunchtime Learning Presentation on Stroke (February 15, 2012)

On Thursday, February 23rd, the Community Health Information (CHI) Center at St. John’s Medical Center will host the Lunchtime Learning presentation “How we are winning the battle against stroke” with Leo Nelson Hopkins, MD, FACS.

Topics will include what causes a stroke, how a stroke is similar to a heart attack, how lifestyle modification and medication can help prevent a stroke and treatment options including surgical intervention.

Dr. Hopkins is currently Professor and Chairman of Neurosurgery, Professor of Radiology, and Director of the Toshiba Stroke Research Center, University at Buffalo, State University of New York. Dr. Hopkins has also served as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and of the Executive Committee of the Stroke Council of the American Heart Association.
