St. John’s Medical Center was recently recognized with the "Community Partner of the Year" award by the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing at the University of Wyoming. St. John’s achieved the distinction for its dedication and support of the University’s nursing students in the BRAND program. “Our nursing staff works hard to be great role models for the students,” says Lynn Kirman, Chief Nursing Officer. “This is really a wonderful partnership.”
The BRAND program is University of Wyoming’s off-site Bachelor of Science to nursing degree program. Students attend live, interactive classroom sessions via satellite and gain clinical experience on the nursing units at St. John’s Medical Center. Cathy Beck RN, MSN, Director of Medical-Surgical Services, serves as the primary clinical instructor at St. John’s and was recognized at the award ceremony. “This program couldn’t be successful without the support of all staff throughout the medical center” she said.
