Although colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States, it is 90 percent preventable with early proper screening. If you are 50 or older, the American Cancer Society recommends a screening. Additionally, if there is a history of colorectal cancer in your family, you should check with your physician to discuss what screenings might be appropriate for you.
