Highlights from the Special Board of Trustees Meeting held 7/5/2012:
Barbara Herz chaired today’s special meeting of the Board and noted that the purpose for this meeting was to discuss guaranteed maximum pricing (GMP) quotes from JE Dunn for the expansion project and the Central Energy Plant (CEP) and take possible action to move the projects forward.
Gary Trauner explained that the GMP for the expansion project is $19,709,283 and the GMP for the CEP is $5,944,501. There was a list of Alternates (Adds) to the expansion project consisting of quality upgrades and additional renovations that were recommended by administration to be included in the project GMP that totaled $291,039. Both the expansion and CEP projects continue to carry an 8% contingency to handle unforeseen issues.
Lou Hochheiser made the recommendation from administration that due to the extensive review of the project documents that has been conducted; the GMPs for both projects should be approved.
The Board unanimously approved the GMPs as presented and approved administration to make any suitable amendments to the existing construction contract documents so the project can move forward. JE Dunn will begin notifying the subcontractors who will be awarded contracts so they can begin preparing to restart construction.
