Volunteering

At St. John's Medical Center, volunteers contribute valuable services and spend quality time with patients, residents, and families. By being a “healing presence,” volunteers provide support and hope during troubled times by focusing on the person and not the illness or injury. In doing so, a St. John's volunteer can help enhance the quality of care patients receive.

Requirements for volunteering include:

  • Completing an application
  • Personal interview
  • Lab work (TB test, MMR, drug screen, flu shot)
  • Completed online background check
  • General orientation to hospital procedures
  • Training in your interest area
  • Commitment to serving a full calendar year
