St. John's
Medical Center is blessed with incredible community support. During the
entire 85-year history of the hospital, residents have continued to give:
- The St. John's Medical Center Foundation
is a non-profit organization
dedicated to raising major capital for St. John's Medical
Center. Through gift programs, events and planned giving, the St.
John's Foundation is a major source of funding for St.
John's Medical Center.
- St. John's
Auxiliary is an organization that
raises money for specific equipment needs of St. John's as well as
raising scholarship money for worthy student volunteers and St. John's
employees.
- The Volunteer Program at St.
John's is a wonderful way to share the gift of your time.
- Donations
of cash, property and other material gifts are welcome by
St. John's Medical Center. St. John's has equipment not found at
other hospitals of our size due, in part, to the generous support of our
patients, residents and visitors.
All types
of giving are essential and make possible the highest quality health care
in our community.
St.
John's History: The hospital opened its doors in 1916 with
support from the St. John's Episcopal Church. Then, the hospital
consisted of an operating room, kitchen and two patient rooms. In 1960,
the community collaborated to build a new facility on the present 16-acre
campus. In 1976, St. John's became a hospital district with an elected
six-member Board of Trustees.
As the community
grew and healthcare became a priority for many people, the hospital realized
a larger building was once again needed. In 1991 the existing facility
was dedicated and opened for patient care. With 109 beds, St. John's Medical
Center is a dynamic organization, offering a broad range of services,
from emergency care to long-term care.
The Professional
Office Building was remodeled in 1992, adjacent to the existing hospital
facility, and it now houses physician offices, the Health Institute/Wellness
Clinic, Professional Home Care, Hospice of the Tetons, the Patient Accounting
Department, the Foundation Office, and other businesses. Although no longer
affiliated with the church, the hospital retains the name...St. John's.
