St. John's Announces Health Fair Prostate Screening Clinic
The 2011 St. John’s Community Health Fair Prostate Screening Clinic
will be held Tuesday, April 26th, Thursday, May 5th and Tuesday, May 17th.
The screenings will be held in the Oncology Department at St. John’s
Medical Center and at St. John’s Family Health & Urgent Care
by appointment only. This screening is free for men over age 50 or age
40 if there is a family history of prostate disease. The screening is
a digital rectal exam performed by a physician or physician’s assistant
and is a quick and safe way to look for signs of cancer. Urologist Lisa
Finkelstein, DO, Michael Rosenberg, MD and Jim Little, Jr. MD will perform
the exams. Call the Community Health Information (CHI) Center at 739-7244
to schedule your Prostate Clinic appointment.
A PSA blood test is recommended prior to the screening. If you haven’t
had this test in the last 6 months, it is available at St. John’s
Medical Center for $20.00 through April 29th as part of the Health Fair
blood wellness screenings. To schedule a PSA blood test call 739-7531.
