Effective January 1, 2012, St. John’s Medical Center will be a tobacco
free campus. As a health care provider, St. John’s is committed
to promoting a safe and healthy environment for its employees, patients,
residents, volunteers, contractors, students and visitors.
Smoking and/or the use of smokeless tobacco products will be prohibited
in all St. John’s Medical Center buildings, company vehicles and
upon all grounds and parking areas. This policy will also pertain to all
residential properties owned or leased by St. John’s, including
The Hitching Post, St. John’s Clinic at Teton Village, St. John’s
Family Health and Urgent Care and the St. John’s Professional Office
Building. Stations are located at property boundaries for the appropriate
disposal of tobacco products prior to entering the hospital campus. “Care
Kits” containing hard candy, a coupon for free coffee at the Refuge
Grill and information about the Wyoming Quit Tobacco Program will be available
at the Community health Information (CHI) Center, Emergency Room Admitting
and at the Patient Access Desk for those having a hard time not using
tobacco products while on the campus.
Information to assist tobacco users with efforts to quit using tobacco
is available at the Community Health Information (CHI) Center located
in the main hospital lobby.
