On Thursday, July 14th, the Community Health Information (CHI) Center at
St. John’s Medical Center will host the Lite Lunch Presentation
“Sports Nutrition: Eating for Endurance” with Catherine Holland,
Registered Dietitian with St. John’s Nutrition Counseling Center.
Ms. Holland will discuss the latest science on sports nutrition for endurance athletes.
Topics will include how to eat while training for a 5K, half marathon,
full marathon or triathlon; the importance of recovery foods; nutrition
options for the day before and the day of your event; and how to stay
hydrated during your event.
In addition to Ms. Holland, World Triathlon qualifiers Brent Peacock and
Margot Watters, and Cary Smith, ultra-endurance athlete, will share some
of their tips on eating for optimal athletic performance.
This free brown bag health talk will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm
in the Moose-Wapiti Classrooms at St. John’s Medical Center. Call
