St. John's Medical Center announces the seasonal opening of St. John's
Clinic at Teton Village, conveniently located at the Cody House near the
Bridger Gondola. The Clinic, now open daily through April 7, 2013, provides
urgent and emergency medical care to Jackson Hole locals as well as winter
visitors. Walk-ins are welcome from 9:00 am until 4:30 pm, seven days a week.
The Clinic is available to assist with less serious medical needs as well.
These ailments, common to travelers, include altitude sickness, dehydration,
flu and gastrointestinal illness.
One of the most valuable ways the Clinic administers emergency care for
injuries and other trauma is with digital X-ray. Experts take digital
X-ray images on site and a St. John's radiologist reads them in real
time at the hospital. Digital x-rays allow the emergency room physician
to begin assessing the patient's condition while the patient is being
transported, when necessary, to the hospital in town. "By the time
a patient arrives at St. John's Medical Center, Emergency Department
doctors already have a picture of what's going on, which expedites
treatment," says St. John's Physician Services Director Jim Berrett.
The Clinic is under the medical direction of Jeffrey Greenbaum, MD, from
the St. John's Medical Center Emergency Department. The staff includes
physicians who are board certified in Emergency Medicine, physician assistant
and other clinical and registration personnel.
