St. John's Medical Center hosts Lunchtime Learning Presentation on Heart Screenings (February 9, 2012)
On Tuesday, February 14th, the Community Health Information (CHI) Center
at St. John’s Medical Center will host the Lunchtime Learning presentation
“The Use of CT in Risk Assessment and Treatment of Heart Disease”
with Robert Berlin, MD.
The discussion will cover how computerized tomography (CT) is used to assess
heart disease risk. Dr. Berlin will discuss Coronary Calcium Scoring exams,
currently being offered at the discounted rate of $200 during February,
Heart Health month. He will also discuss the use of CT scans to evaluate
patients with chest pain to determine the best treatment plan for a possible
heart attack.
Dr. Berlin received his MD and subsequent residency training in Diagnostic
Radiology at SUNY Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. He was board
certified in 1989 and was a faculty member at SUNY Upstate, Syracuse until
1990. He has been a radiologist at St. John’s Medical Center since
leaving Syracuse in 1990 and has served as the Medical Director of the
Department of Radiology since 1992. He has lectured extensively on CT
and CT angiography.
The presentation will be held from noon - 1 pm in the Moose/Wapiti Classroom
