Volunteer Lay Chaplains have been serving patients, residents and families
at the hospital and Living Center with compassionate and nurturing care
since 1992. If you or a family member has a story you would like to share
about your experience with a spiritual care volunteer, please contact
Terri Hayden, Volunteer Services Coordinator, at 739-7541 or
Meeting the spiritual needs of patients is a requirement of the hospital’s
accreditation agency, The Joint Commission. The St. John’s Spiritual
Care Program requires specialized training and ongoing education. “Our
volunteer Lay Chaplains have donated countess hours to provide comfort
to our patients since the program was established,” said Terri Hayden.
“They are a very important part of our team.”
