St. John's Medical Center hosts September Community Presentation
On Thursday, September 20th, the Community Health Information (CHI) Center
at St. John’s Medical Center will host the community presentation
“Handling Life’s Setbacks: Cancer and other not-so-fun Stuff”
with Marlys and Gary Johnson. Topics will include how to recruit a support
team, the importance of nutrition and physical activity during your care,
managing stress, finding meaning and how a community can help.
Gary Johnson is living well with metastatic cancer. Marlys is his caregiver
and serves as the Survivorship Coordinator at the St. Charles Cancer Center
in Bend, Oregon. Through Cancer Adventures, their non-profit, Gary and
Marlys present their timely message in various venues across the United States.
The presentation will be held from noon - 1 pm in the Moose/Wapiti Classroom
