St. John's Medical Center hosts September Lunchtime Learning Presentation
On Tuesday, September 11th, the Community Health Information (CHI) Center
at St. John’s Medical Center will host the Lunchtime Learning presentation
“Pacemakers and Defibrillators: What they are and who may benefit”
with Rick Starkey, LRCP.
Topics will include reasons you may need a pacemaker or intra-cardiac defibrillator
(ICD), types of devices and how they work, why they need to be checked
and what local services are available.
Mr. Starkey has 32 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist and
is currently the Cardiopulmonary Clinical Coordinator at St. John’s
Medical Center. For the last six years, he has worked as St. John’s
device programmer for both pacemakers and ICDs.
The presentation will be held from noon - 1 pm in the Moose/Wapiti Classroom
