Arguably, the Spring Fling is the longest running gala event in Jackson
Hole and Jackson Lake Lodge is the place to be on Memorial Day weekend.
The Hospital Auxiliary celebrates its 54th Annual Spring Fling on the
evening of Saturday, May 25th with a command performance from musical
group, Mandatory Air.
The historic Jackson Lake Lodge provides a dramatic setting for this fun-filled
gala. It all begins in the lobby, with 60-foot panoramic windows that
frame the Teton Range and Jackson Lake. Gala attendees then move in to
the Grand Ballroom to enjoy a sumptuous dinner. Mandatory Air, a local’s
favorite dance band, kicks up the beat and suddenly the dance floor is
filled with happy party goers.
The Jackson Lake Lodge has offered this location to the Auxiliary since
the party’s inception in 1959. The Lodge encourages Spring Fling
attendees to stay the night. A block of lodge rooms and cottages are held
and rates are reduced for party attendees.
“It’s one of those parties we make a point of being here for,”
said Auxiliary Co-chair Joan Palmer. “It’s just the chance
we need to have a short getaway before summer visitors arrive. The dance
floor’s lively but not too crowded. Many of us stay the night and
hike in the Park the next day.”
Funds raised from this year’s Spring Fling support the purchase of
integrated surgical equipment for St. John’s Medical Center’s
new surgical suites. Ticket prices are $90 for an individual, $170 per
couple and $1,200 for a sponsor table. Join the gathering in the Lobby
at 6PM for refreshments followed by dinner and dancing in the ballroom
beginning at 7PM.
Spring Fling is made possible in part by the generosity of the Grand Teton
Lodge Company.
