Caregiving for individuals with memory loss can be mentally, emotionally
and physically challenging, particularly in the absence of dementia-specific
education and training. St. John’s Institute for Cognitive Health
is pleased to offer a new educational series for family and friend caregivers.
Each session will include a presentation by Institute staff members, as
well as group discussion, problem solving and role-play. Sessions will
take place the first and third Tuesday of each month from 12:00-1:15pm
in the Moose-Wapiti classroom at St. John’s Medical Center. Topics
and dates for February and March are as follows:
• February 5 - The types of dementia and how they manifest themselves
• February 19 - Managing behavioral problems in patients with memory loss
• March 5 - Caregiver stress and how to take care of yourself
• March 19 - Coping with patient and caregiver denial
Future program dates and topics will be available in the Events section
at cognitive.tetonhospital.org.
This series is ongoing and free of charge. Free caregiving services are
available onsite during the sessions; advance notice is required by the
previous Friday. Please direct program questions and/or caregiving service
requests to Annie Riddell at 307.203.2454 or
