On Thursday, January 30th, St. John’s Medical Center Words on Wellness
will host the lunchtime learning presentation, “Joint Replacements:
Now or Later?” at the Teton County Library from noon to 1 pm.
There are more than one million hip and knee replacements performed in
the U.S. each year. At this lunchtime learning presentation, orthopedic
surgeon Dr. Gus Goetz will discuss joint replacement surgery and the patient
education process at St. John's Medical Center. Topics will include:
an explanation of St. John's Center for Excellence, how much of the
joint is actually replaced, and how computer-assisted surgery can help.
Gus Goetz, DO, is chairperson of the surgical operations committee, medical
director for the hospital’s Center of Excellence in Joint Replacement,
and former chief of surgery at St. John's.
