On Thursday, August 14, St. John’s Medical Center will host the lunchtime
learning presentation, “Compassion, Communication, and Compromise:
End-of-Life Healthcare Decisions,” at the Teton County Library from
noon to 1:00 pm.
Dr. David Peterson will begin with an overview of end-of-life care, including
its history. He'll address issues including autonomy, quality of life,
and competence. The discussion will conclude with a summary of what documents
to complete as part of the planning process.
David Peterson, MD, FACEP, DABEM, spent the majority of his career practicing
emergency medicine in the Seattle area, founded the CIWEC Clinic in Kathmandu,
and has a long-standing interest in medical ethics and end-of-life decision making.
