Lunchtime Learning: Best Practices for Treating Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

4-Jun-2014

On Thursday, June 12, St. John’s Medical Center will host the lunchtime learning presentation, “Best Practices for Treating Children Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder,” at the Teton County Library from noon to 1:00 pm.

St. John's Medical Center CEO, Lou Hochheiser, MD, will begin the presentation with an overview of diagnosing autism.

Brad Dickey, school psychologist for Teton County School District, will discuss Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and how it can be used to treat individuals diagnosed with autism as well as review different ABA therapies and how they work.

Brad Dickey, NCSP, BCBA, has 5 years of experience working as a behavioral therapist for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Dr. Lou Hochheiser has a background in pediatrics and, early in his career, helped promote care for children with autism.

For more information, please call 739-7466. Thursday's presentation is part of the St. John's Medical Center Words on Wellness program and is offered in conjunction with the Teton County Library.
