On Tuesday, December 2, St. John’s Medical Center will host the community
presentation “The Affordable Care Act and You: 2015 Update”
at the Teton County Library from 6:30 to 7:30 pm.
Topics will include an overview of the 2015 individual and small business
(SHOP) health insurance Marketplaces, details about WY WinHealth and Blue
Cross Blue Shield plans, and available local resources.
Speaking on these topics are panelists Patrick Gillies, MPA, the regional
administrator in the Denver Regional Office for the U.S. Health Resources
and Services Administration (HRSA); Lou Hochheiser, MD, chief executive
officer of St. John's Medical Center and former chief medical leader
of Humana; John Gardner, CBC, CIC, PWCA, chief business development officer
at WINhealth; and Dan Myers, district sales manager in Jackson for Blue
Cross Blue Shield of Wyoming.
The changes on the health insurance Marketplace for 2015 are significant
and affect plans, eligibility, and subsidies. Even people who had Marketplace
insurance in 2014 should take note, whether or not they were automatically
re-enrolled in their current plan. Consumers are encouraged to update
their financial information and compare plans; for 2015, Wyoming has additional
Marketplace plans at more competitive prices.
Certified marketplace navigators from St. John's Medical Center and
Teton County Library will continue to offer free appointments to assist
with this process through February 15, 2015. Call the Library’s
front desk at 733-2164 to schedule an appointment.
For more information, call 739-7466. Tuesday's presentation is part
of the St. John's Medical Center Words on Wellness program.
