St. John's Medical Center will hold a book discussion on "Social
Intelligence" by Daniel Goleman, PhD, on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 from
6 to 7 pm at Snow King Hotel.
Facilitating the discussion will be panelists Lou Hochheiser, MD, CEO of
St. John's Medical Center; Mayor Sara Flitner, Town of Jackson; and
Bo Miller, principal of Jackson Hole Middle School.
Copies of "Social Intelligence" are available at the Teton County
Library beginning on Tuesday, April 21, compliments of the St. John's
"This discussion will focus on how social intelligence intersects
with social/emotional learning and how it can positively influence decisions
at the community level," said event organizer Julia Heemstra of St.
John's Wellness department. The discussion will set the groundwork
for Goleman's presentation later in May.
Goleman will speak on "Emotional Intelligence: Why it Can Matter More
Than IQ" at the Center for the Arts on Friday, May 15 at 7 pm. Tickets
are $20, available at the Center's box office and at jhcenterforthearts.org.
Goleman comes to Jackson as part of St. John's Medical Center's
Words on Wellness speaker series, which presents national speakers and
conducts Lunchtime Learning presentations on health and wellness topics.
