On Wednesday, August 12, St. John’s Medical Center will host the
community presentation, “Where are we with Health Care Reform? 2015
and Beyond,” at the Teton County Library from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
The presentation will cover successes and challenges of the Affordable
Care Act (ACA), disparities in health care across and within states, three
classic implementation problems, and concerns about consolidations and
mergers of insurers and health care providers.
Presenter Katherine Swartz, PhD, is a professor of Health Economics and
Policy at Harvard School of Public Health, where she has been on the faculty
since 1992. Her current research focuses on implementation issues related
to the new health care reform law (ACA) and aging health policy issues.
She is a member of the National Academy of Medicine, and was president
of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management in 2009.
