Michael E. Berrett, PhD, with the Center for Change, will present "Taking
Care of Yourself While Helping A Loved One who is in an Addictive Process,"
on Wednesday, September 16, 6:00 - 7:30 pm, at the Teton County Library.
The talk is sponsored by Jackson Hole Community Counseling Center, St.
John's Medical Center, and Center for Change.
This presentation is designed to offer help and support for those who may
have a loved one struggling with an addictive process, including substances,
eating disorders, gambling, sexual addiction, and other addictions. "Mental
health is a vital part of overall health," said Karen Connelly, communications
officer for the Medical Center. "Addictive issues are prevalent in
our community and can affect the well-being of the whole family and other
loved ones," she added.
Dr. Berrett, psychologist and CEO and co-founder of Center for Change,
will outline the process of addiction and offer ways to support a loved
one while still taking good care of oneself. In addition to educational
components, the presentation offers hope for those involved in an addictive
process as well as the people who love them.
Center for Change is a specialized treatment center in Orem, Utah for people
