The 14th Annual Steve Winograd Memorial Diabetes Tennis Tournament will
be held at Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis Club Friday, August 14 through
Sunday, August 16, 2015. The event benefits the St. John's Hospital
Foundation Diabetes Fund.
"Thanks to the vision of tennis pro Eddie Kolsky, we can help reduce
the impact of diabetes in our community. I am honored to participate in
this year's tournament," said St. John's CEO Lou Hochheiser, MD.
Teams in this doubles tournament can be mixed, women's, men's,
or parent/child. Matches begin Friday, August 14 and continue through
the weekend. Registration is $100 per person, and $50 to play in a second
category. Players 18 years and younger play for free, thanks to the generosity
of an anonymous donor. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on Saturday
and Sunday. The closing dinner, open to the public, will be held at the
Club on Sunday at 6:30 pm to celebrate the tournament and promote awareness
of diabetes in our community. Dinner tickets are $50 and may be reserved
by calling 307-739-7517.

The Steve Winograd Memorial Tennis Tournament, founded by Kolsky, has raised
over $300,000 for St. John's Diabetes Education program, a certified
program of the American Diabetes Association. These funds help send children
to diabetes summer camps, provide financial assistance to patients, and
support the purchase of medical equipment. The Diabetes Education program
reduces the number of hospital admissions and helps prevent complications
from diabetes, including heart disease, kidney disease, and blindness.
St. John's Diabetes Education staff also provide community education
to help lower the incidence of diabetes in Teton County.
