St. John’s Hospital Foundation announces that Rachel Pettengill Merrell
has been named Director of Stewardship and Special Events.
“Rachel brings an impressive set of skills and experience to this
new role, and we are delighted to have her join the team," said John
Goettler, Foundation President.
Merrell is responsible for working closely with donors, volunteers, and
community members to increase donor engagement with the Foundation as
well as the impact of community events. As the Foundation staff liaison
to the St. John's Auxiliary, Merrell is working closely with the volunteers
to organize and promote the Spring Fling and the Annual Charitable Golf
Tournament.
Merrell is also coordinating with the organizers of third-party spring
fundraisers: Phil Leeds of Skinny Skis on the Run ’n’ Ride,
Alison Kyle on Shirley’s Heart Run, and Grand Targhee Resort on
the Pattie Layser Mary's Nipple Challenge.
Merrell said, “I feel fortunate to work on these events with such
dedicated volunteers. St. John's patients benefit tremendously from
the fundraising support that's generated."
Prior to joining the St. John's Hospital Foundation, Merrell served
as Associate Director of Development at the National Museum of Wildlife
Art. Originally from the Boston area, Merrell holds a B.A. in psychology
from Colgate University.
The mission of the St. John’s Hospital Foundation is to broaden the
community’s understanding of and support for St. John’s Medical
Center and to inspire philanthropy to improve the health of our community.
