St. John's Medical Center Hospice will offer a structured six-week
grief support group beginning on September 16.
The group will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:15 pm and will
focus on supporting those experiencing the loss of a loved one. Each week
will include a different discussion topic, and voluntary homework assignments
will take place between sessions.
"Grief is a natural process that we will all be faced with it at some
point in life, yet people often feel alone in this process." said
the group's leader, Christina Riley, licensed clinical social worker
at St. John's Hospice. "The intent of this group is to offer
a safe space for bereaved adults to share and support one another while
participating in activities that help to process the emotions and experiences
each person is facing."
Riley has previously worked with hospice organizations in Sandpoint, Idaho
and Star Valley, Wyoming in addition to sixteen years in mental health
