Center and the Senior Center of Jackson Hole offer three events in April
designed for seniors.
Life Reimagined Checkup
On Thursday, April 21, the Senior Center of Jackson Hole will offer the
“Life Reimagined Checkup” workshop by AARP. Participants will
reflect on goals and aspirations, harness underlying personal strengths,
and get tools and inspiration to take the next step. The evening will
begin at 5:30 pm at the Senior Center with a soup/salad/dessert buffet
compliments of AARP. The workshop will take place from 6 to 8 pm. RSVP

Lunchtime Learning: Medicare 101
On Thursday, April 28, St. John’s Medical Center will host the lunchtime
learning presentation, “Medicare 101” at the Teton County
Library from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Audience members will learn about who
should enroll and when, where, and how they should do it; details on Medicare
coverage; and how to be protected from fraud and abuse.
Presenters Kelly Wicks and Sandy Goodman are both from Wyoming Senior Citizens,
Inc., a nonprofit organization to meet the needs of Wyoming’s older
residents. Kelly is the program manager for the Wyoming State Health Insurance
Information Program, and Sandy is the program manager for the Senior Medicare

Walk with a Doc/Dinner with a Doc
On Thursday, April 28, from 5 to 7 pm, St. John’s will offer Walk
with a Doc and Dinner with a Doc at the Senior Center of Jackson Hole.
St. John’s Internal Medicine physician Hayley Miller, MD, will present
“Diabetes in the United States: Prevention and living with a diagnosis.”
Attendees will learn what diabetes is, how many people are affected, how
to prevent type 2 diabetes, and why it is important to control blood sugar,
blood pressure, and cholesterol.
The menu includes spinach and mushroom salad, Monterey Chicken, steamed
brown rice, grilled broccoli, bread, and berry parfait. The dinner is
free for seniors and $8 for guests. The walk starts at 5 pm, and dinner
begins at 6 pm, with the talk following. RSVP to the Senior Center at 733-7300.
