currently offering free appointments to Wyoming residents. Navigators
assist with the application process, answer questions, and help determine
a person's monthly premium through the
This service is provided for those who do not currently have health insurance,
who are in jeopardy of losing insurance coverage, who are interested in
switching plans, or who are simply re-enrolling in the health insurance
According to Julia Heemstra, director of the Wellness Department at St.
John’s, “Taking the time to review your application, rather
than simply allowing the Marketplace to re-enroll you, may save you money.
It is important for all enrollees to update information annually to ensure
that they are receiving appropriate financial assistance from the Marketplace.”
Navigators provide one-hour appointments at Teton County Library on Thursday
evenings (at 5:30 and 6:30 pm). Call the Library front desk at 733-2164,
extension 1, to schedule your appointment.
A limited number of appointments are available at St. John’s Medical
Center, Monday through Friday. To schedule, call the Wellness Department
December 15 is the deadline for January 1, 2017 coverage. Health insurance
deductibles reset for all plans on January 1.
Every year since the ACA was established, Teton County has had the highest
number of marketplace enrollees in the state. A fine, or “individual
shared responsibility payment” is now imposed upon all tax filers
who have not had health insurance for three consecutive months or more
in a calendar year (unless the filer meets criteria for an exemption).
