The Board of Trustees of St. John's Medical Center is pleased to announce
the 2016 officers of the Board, elected by a unanimous vote of the Trustees
at the public board meeting on February 29, 2016. Officers of the Board
of Trustees, who all retained their positions from the prior year, are:
Mike Tennican, Chair; Barbara Herz, Vice Chair; Liz Masek, Secretary;
and Scott Gibson, Treasurer. "Continuity is a real benefit at a complex
organization such as the Medical Center," said Tennican. "I'm
grateful that these individuals are enthusiastic about continuing to serve
the community alongside me in these offices."
At the public meeting, Chair Mike Tennican also received board approval
to appoint members and chairs of the board's committees for Strategic
Planning; Finance, Audit and IT; Quality and Safety; Facilities; Human
Resources; Organization; and Compliance. Appointment to committees is
for a one-year term. Tennican noted that the work of Trustees on these
committees is both time-consuming and critically important. “Without
the research and analysis performed in committees, and their recommendations
to the full board, it would be virtually impossible for the Board and
the Administration to address the complex issues confronting St. John’s
in the current healthcare environment,” he said. He added that "I
want also to extend appreciation on behalf of the Medical Center to other
community members who offer their expertise to the Trustees and Administration
on our committees," said Tennican. "Their contributions enhance
the ability of our committees to develop well-researched and thoughtful
recommendations for the consideration and approval of the full Board."
