On Wednesday, May 25, cardiologists from St. John's Medical Center
(SJMC) and Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC) will discuss
treatments for two common heart conditions, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm at the
Teton County Library.
The first portion of the presentation, from 5:30 to 6:30 pm, will cover
“Options for Treatment & Management of Atrial Fibrillation,”
a common arrhythmia. This presentation will explore many treatment options
currently available, including new blood thinners and ablation therapy.
Beginning at 6:30 pm, the second half of the presentation will be “Aortic
Stenosis.” Innovative aortic stenosis treatments will be discussed,
including minimally-invasive valve repair or replacement.
The public is invited to attend for the complete presentation or a single topic.
Ellen Gallant, MD, FACC, FSCAI, board-certified cardiologist with St.
John's Cardiology in Jackson. Dr. Gallant provides medical management
of heart conditions and coordinates patient care at larger health centers,
including EIRMC, when invasive procedures are necessary.
Alejandro Perez-Verdia, MD, FACC, board-certified cardiologist with EIRMC,
in Idaho Falls. Dr. Perez-Verdia specializes in electrophysiology.
Scott Needham, MD, FACC, board-certified cardiothoracic surgeon with EIRMC.
Dr. Needham specializes in minimally-invasive valve repair and replacement.
