The 14th annual Shirley's Heart Run, a fundraiser for the St. John’s
Hospital Foundation Cardiology Fund, will take place on Saturday, June
16 at 9:00 am. This 5K run or walk starts and ends at Rendezvous Park
(R Park) in Wilson.
“This important community event is hosted each year in memory of
Shirley Kyle, who died suddenly from a heart attack in 2005,” said
Foundation president John Goettler, "Shirley’s Heart Run raises
awareness of the importance of early detection of the signs of heart disease.
The Cardiology Fund has allowed us to support patients, purchase essential
medical equipment like portable defibrillators, and provide heart-related
programs."
The out-and-back course follows the pathway from R Park to the Wilson pedestrian
bridge, crosses the Snake River to the Emily's Pond Levee trail (also
known as the dike), and continues along the east shore of the Snake River.
This year, the Foundation invites all 5th graders from Teton County to participate for free. Students from Alta,
Classical Academy, Colter, Jackson, Journeys School, Kelly, Moran, and
Wilson Elementary are encouraged to gather their classmates to run or
walk on Saturday. A donation will be made to the St. John’s Hospital
Foundation Cardiology Fund in honor of each 5th grade participant.
The pre-registration entry fee of $20 includes a t-shirt (for the first
100 registrants), a raffle ticket for numerous prizes donated by local
businesses, and more. E.leaven will provide breakfast burritos, and hot
and cold beverages will be served to participants and spectators.

Emily's Pond parking lot and walk over the pedestrian bridge to R
Park. Please arrive early to leave plenty of time to find a parking space
and walk to the race starting line.
