St. John’s Medical Center announces the birth of the First Baby of
the New Year, who arrived at 9:18 am on January 2, 2019. Baby Noah Keenan
was born to parents Debra and Peter Keenan of Jackson. He weighed 9 pounds,
10 ounces, and he joins his sister, four-year-old Sally. He was delivered
by obstetrician Dr. Shannon Roberts, and his pediatrician is Dr. Karin
Klee. Debra and Noah were cared for by nurses Ellen Marsh, RN; Debbie
Bedford, RN; and Katie Baxter; RN.
The hospital Auxiliary recognized the birth by coordinating a warm welcome
on behalf of thirty community businesses and individuals. The Auxiliary
presented the family with gift baskets of toys, baby care items, and numerous
gift certificates to be enjoyed by the proud parents at local shops and
"First Baby" coordinator for the Auxiliary, Janet Wood, RN, extended
the Auxiliary's appreciation for the business community’s support
of the First Baby program.

ABOUT ST. JOHN’S AUXILIARY
The mission of the all-volunteer

for the Medical Center, through fundraising activities, and by service
to the hospital and its patients. Funds raised by the Auxiliary, through
annual events such as the Spring Fling Gala and the Annual Charity Golf
Tournament, go directly toward the fulfillment of pledges to the Medical
Center for specific equipment or services. Since its inception, the Auxiliary
has raised more than $2 million. The Auxiliary also sponsors the Living
Center Christmas Party and the First Baby of the Year, awards scholarships,
and participates in other charitable activities. The Auxiliary meets monthly,
including quarterly social events for members and guests.
