Kim Mellick received her masters of science in nursing in 2013 from Western
University of Health Sciences. She grew up in the rainy city of Portland,
Oregon, where she also received her BS in nursing from Oregon Health &
Science University in 2003. She initially moved to Jackson in 2006 to
ski for “one season”. However, the Jackson bug got the best
of her and, after completing her master's degree, she returned to
Jackson, where she has lived ever since.
Kim’s passion in healthcare developed from a desire to make a difference
in people’s lives by providing high quality care and building relationships
with her patients. She enjoys getting to know her patients and their families
and watching the community strive to become the healthiest we can be.
Kim worked in the PCU and ICU at St. Johns Medical Center before returning
for graduate school to become a nurse practitioner.
Prior to her career in medicine, Kim was an Outward Bound instructor in
Minnesota and New Mexico. She worked with at-risk youth in the wilderness,
teaching them how to function as a team and thrive under stress.
