Jackson, WY Veteran Cognitive Health
Cognitive Services for Veterans in Teton County
No matter where they served or for how long, veterans have performed a
valuable service for this country, and St. John’s Medical Center
would like to extend a caring hand to former members of the U.S. military
in need of cognitive health services. Men and women in the service place
themselves at great risk during their brave service, and even if they
return physically unscathed, their experience may have resulted in mental
scarring. Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), neurodegenerative disorders,
and traumatic disorders are common issues faced by veterans, and our cognitive
care team has received specialized training for treating these conditions.
Recognized for Veteran health care
St. John's is proud to be recognized as a Veteran’s Choice provider.
We have always looked for a way to make health care more convenient and
accessible for members of our community. As part of this effort, we partnered
with the University of Utah Center for Alzheimer’s Care, Imaging
and Research to offer free cognitive health services for veterans from
June 2011 to March 2016. Though this program is no longer available, the
experience our staff gained treating a wide array of conditions for veterans
was invaluable. The skills they picked up during this period has immense
benefits for all patients who have come afterward.
